As the name may suggest, this is an artisan bakery as well as a cafe. Their bread rolls and scones are top class, the type of bakes by which others should be judged. The cafe itself is fairly nondescript, but the food provided makes up for any lack of splendour or elegance. Service and prices are good and there’s always a pleasant atmosphere. It fronts onto the road in a busy village (pronounced Cry – ch) and has no car park, but there is usually roadside parking within a few minutes walk.
One tip – arrive just before closing time and they usually have mixed bags of rolls, scones or other bakes at virtually give away prices.
